UPSC Civil Service Recruitment 2020 Notification

UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) has released the most awaited notification of UPSC CSE. All candidates are requested to carefully read the Rules of Civil Services Examination notified by the Government (Department of Personnel and Training) and this Notice of Examination derived from these Rules. The Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission to all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of an e-Admit Card to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. The Commission takes up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for the Interview/Personality Test.

Download Of e-Admit Card For Prelims- The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website [https://upsconline.nic.in] for downloading by candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post.

UPSC Eligibility Criteria

If the aspirant planning to give UPSC CSE she/he must hold a degree of Graduation from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or possess an equivalent qualification.
Educational Qualification:
All candidates must have as a minimum one of the following educational qualifications:
  • A degree from a Central, State, or a Deemed university
  • A degree received through correspondence or distance education
  • A degree from an open university
  • A qualification recognized by the Government of India as being equivalent to one of the above.
Nationality:

IAS Exam Eligibility: Nationality

For recruitment as an I.A.S or I.P.S officer, a candidate must be a citizen of India. Apart from I.A.S or I.P.S services, the candidate must be any of the following:
  1. a citizen of India
  2. a subject of Nepal
  3. a subject of Bhutan
  4. a refugee from Tibet who came to India with the intention of permanently settling before January 01, 1962, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to categories Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refuge and other Indian origin candidates from countries mentioned above shall be given a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Note: Candidate who is a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or is a Tibetan refugee will not be considered eligible for appointment to Indian Foreign Services. Also, candidates who need to produce a certificate of eligibility will be admitted to the IAS Exam but the appointment will be given after submission of certificates issued by the Government of India.
