• The 6th edition of Indo-French Military Exercise SHAKTI (SHAKTI) 2021 (Bilateral Joint Training Exercise) will be held in Frejus, France in November.
• A platoon of Gorkha Rifles Infantry Battalion will represent the Indian Army in this bilateral exercise.

Introduction:

• The exercise will focus on counter-terrorism operations in the backdrop of semi-urban areas under the United Nations mandate, with an aim to enhance military cooperation and inter-operability between the two armies.
• The biennial exercise between the armies of the two countries started in the year 2011.
• It is organized by India and France sequentially.
• The last edition of Exercise Shakti was conducted in Rajasthan in the year 2019, in which ‘Anti-Terrorist Operations in Semi-Desert Areas’ was exercised.

• Desert Night-21 and Garuda- Air Force Exercise
• Shakti- Military exercise
