Aatmnirbhar handicraftsman scheme- Today Current Affairs
- Recently, ‘Atmanirbhar Handicraftsman Scheme’ has been announced under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region for the artisans of the North Eastern Region.
Introduction:
- Financial assistance will be provided in the form of term loan for setting up/expansion/modernisation/working capital requirement and other activities related to the sector for the purpose of development of small scale handicraftsmen working in this sector.
- A total of 17 handicraftsmen have been provided loan assistance of Rs.1 lakh per artisan during the launch event of the scheme.
- The credit facility is collateral-free and is available at a concessional rate of interest of 6% p.a. This loan becomes repayable in 24 months.
- For regular repayment, an incentive of 1% is provided on the interest rate, which will be returned to the artisans on successful repayment of the loan.
Eligibility:
- Registered/Unregistered artisans/individuals.
- Having a valid qualification or practicing any craft.
- No existing loan from any other bank/financial institution.
- Bank account.
