- Recently the Ministry of AYUSH made a new beginning by providing ‘AYUSH Aahar’ in its canteen at AYUSH Bhawan (Delhi).
- It aims to promote nutritious diet and healthy living.
Meaning of Ayush:
- Traditional and non-traditional systems of health care and treatment including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homeopathy etc.
- Positive features of Indian system of medicine namely their diversity and flexibility; accessibility; affordability, wide acceptance by a large section of the general public; The comparatively low cost or rising economic value has great potential to make them the healthcare provider needed by the vast majority of our people.
Some initiatives of Ministry of AYUSH: The Hindu Analysis
National AYUSH Mission:
- The Government is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Mission through the States/UTs for the development and promotion of the AYUSH system of medicine.
- The government has decided to continue it till 2026.
- The mission is dedicated to spreading awareness about nutrition.
New Portals on AYUSH Sector:
- Five new portals have been launched on AYUSH sector – CTRI (Clinical Trials Registry of India), RMIS (Research Management Information System), SAHI (Display of Ayurvedic Historical Imprints), AMAR (Advanced Repository of AYUSH Manuscripts) and e-MEDH (Electronic, medical heritage accession).
ACCR Portal and Ayush Sanjeevani App: The Hindu Analysis
- AYUSH Clinical Case Repository Portal: To illustrate the strength of AYUSH systems for the treatment of various pathological conditions.
- AYUSH Sanjeevani App 3rd Edition: It will facilitate a critical study and documentation about the efficacy of selected AYUSH interventions, including AYUSH 64 and Kabasura Kudineer drugs, in the management of asymptomatic and mild to moderate COVID-19 patients.
