Recently the Prime Minister delivered the 100th session of the Man ki Baat.

What is Man ki Baat?

“Man ki Baat” is a radio program hosted by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

The program is broadcasted on the last Sunday of every month and is a platform for the Prime Minister to address the nation and share his thoughts on various issues of national and international importance. 

The program is broadcasted on the All India Radio network, as well as various other platforms such as Doordarshan, YouTube, and mobile applications. 

Listeners are also invited to share their ideas and suggestions with the Prime Minister through various channels such as phone calls, SMS, and social media. The program has been running since 2014 and has become a popular platform for the Prime Minister to directly connect with the citizens of India.

What is the significance of Man ki Baat?

What is the background of AIR?

All India Radio (AIR), officially known since 1957 as Akashvani (literary meaning “Voice from the Sky”), is the national public radio broadcaster of India and is a division of Prasar Bharati. It was established in 1936.

All India Radio is the largest radio network in the world, and one of the largest broadcasting organisations in the world in terms of the number of languages broadcast and the spectrum of socio-economic and cultural diversity. AIR broadcasts programs in 23 languages and 146 dialects, covering nearly 99% of the country’s population. 

Its programs range from news, current affairs, and entertainment to education and cultural programs. AIR also broadcasts international news in several languages, including English, Hindi, and Urdu. 

The organization has a vast network of over 400 radio stations across India, including local and regional stations. In addition to radio, AIR also broadcasts programs through satellite, digital, and online platforms. It is one of the largest radio networks in the world and has been a prominent source of information and entertainment for the people of India since its inception in 1936.
