- Recently, the closing ceremony of the third edition of the National Youth Parliament Festival (NYPF), 2022 was addressed by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha in New Delhi.
- The National Youth Parliament is an innovative program to equip the youth with an understanding of parliamentary and democratic processes.

About National Youth Parliament Festival:
- Background: NYPF is based on the idea given by the Prime Minister in his ‘Mann Ki Baat Address’ in the year 2017.
- Objective: To listen to the voices of youth in the age group of 18-25, who are allowed to vote but cannot contest elections.
- To encourage youth to engage with public issues, understand common man’s point of view, form opinions and express them clearly.
- Previous NYPF: The first edition of NYPF was held in the year 2019 with the theme “Be the Voice of New India and Find Solutions and Contribute to Policy”.
- The second edition of NYPF was held in 2020, with the theme “Youth – Enthusiasm of New India”.
Main Features: Today Current Affairs
- All recognized educational institutions of the country are eligible to participate in this program.
- Kishore Sabha for the students of class IX to XII.
- Tarun Sabha for Undergraduate/Post Graduate level students.
- Registration for participation will be done by the educational institutions through the web portal.
- To ensure effective implementation of the scheme, the participating institutions may invite an MP/Former MP/’Former MLA/MLC/Former MLC or eminent person as the Chief Guest who will oversee the performance of the Youth Parliament.
- Events: Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
