The Indian Navy has launched ‘Operation Sankalp’ in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman as a measure to ensure the safety of Indian ships.

Keeping in view the deteriorating security in the Gulf region after the attack on merchant ships in the Gulf of Oman on June 19, 2019, the Indian Navy has decided to ensure the safe passage of Indian flag-bearing ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz on June 19, 2019.
