• Recently Bhutan has announced to honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the country’s highest civilian award- ‘Order of the Druk Gyalpo’.
• ‘The Order of the Dragon King’ (Druk Gyalpo) is the highest honor of the Government of Bhutan, through which the work done by Bhutan in the service of the Empire and the common people is underlined.
• It is worth noting that even before this, the Prime Minister has been honored by many countries with their highest civilian honor.
• The Prime Minister received the ‘Order of Abdul Aziz Al Saud’ (2016 – Saudi Arabia’s highest honour), the ‘State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan’ (2016 – Afghanistan’s highest civilian honour), the Order of St. Andrew Award (2019 – Russia) the highest civilian honor of the U.S.) and the ‘Legion of Merit’ (2020) by the US Government, etc.
• Apart from this, the Prime Minister has also been honored with the Seoul Peace Prize (2018), Champions of the Earth Award (2018), ‘First Philip Kotler Presidential Award’ (2019), ‘Global Energy and Environment Leadership Award’ (2021).
