08 Nov 2021 Padma Awards 2020
- 08 November 2021 President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Padma Awards 2020 to Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Kangana Ranaut, Adnan Sami, Rani Rampal, PV. Honored 141 people including Sindhu.
- Rani Rampal, who is the captain of the women’s hockey team, was also honored with the Padma Shri Award 2020.
- Padma Shri Award 2020: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is an actress, also received.
- Pandit Channulal Mishra, who is a Hindustani classical singer, was also honored with the Padma Vibhushan Award 2020.
- On 26 January 2020, the Government of India announced to give Padma Vibhushan to 7 people, Padma Bhushan to 16 and Padma Shri to 118.
- George Fernandes, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj are also named among the recipients of Padma Vibhushan.
- This time 33 women have also received Padma awards, out of which 18 are from foreign, NRI, PIO, OCI category while 12 awards have been given posthumously.
- Some of the Bollywood celebrities like- Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, Suresh Wadkar (singer) and Adnan Sami (singer) are included in the Padma Shri list.
Padma Vibhushan Award:
- This is the second highest civilian honor, which is given by the Government of India.
- It was established on 02 January 1954.
- This honor is given for distinguished and remarkable service in any field.

Padma Bhushan Award:
- This honor is the third highest civilian honor given by the Government of India. This honor is given for valuable contribution to the country.
